THURSDAY 5 October 2017

On Thursday 5th October after breakfast in the F-motel, we went to Demanovska Cave of Freedom, which is part of the Demanovska Cave System. The karst area has an area of 2,700 km² with 4,000 caves. The Cave of Freedom reaches a length of 8400 m n. The Kras is formed by dissolving rocks of limestone and dolomite. The water is the main factor of transformation in the karst area. The karst massif is flowed or pumped. Then the water with the rock chemically reagents and dissolves it. Then we visited the Slovak Museum of Nature Conservation and Caving in Liptovský Mikuláš. We learnt many news about karst phenomena in the Damanov valley. We saw collections of stalactites and we understood their origins. Then we went upstairs and there were samples of flowers and preparations of all animals living in Slovakia. And finally we got to prehistory. Than we had lunch in school canteen in Liptovský Hrádok. After lunch ve had chemistry lesson, where we investigated the sample sof water. Dinner was again in the school canteen. Then we met at the clubhouse with friends from Slovakia. They prepared a very nice programme for us, a show of deer cuddling and playing the harmonica with singing, eventually some of us even dancing. Everybody was happy.

FRIDAY 6 October 2017

On Friday morning, after a delicious breakfast, we went to the church Saint Cross. This church was build only by wood in 17th century. After church we went to Liptovská Mara Dam. Seven villages were flooded. Next to this dam there was a place called Havránok. There was a reconstruction of the Celtic village, which was located here in the past. When our visit to these two beautiful places ended, we went for lunch. I think it was the best lunch we had in Slovakia. After lunch we went to Tatralandia. We enjoyed all day. In Tatralandia we were on the toboggans in the hot and cold pools. Someone also visited the sauna or swam in the salt pool. The dinners was at our hotel. We were all together playing the guitar and singing songs in the evening.
